Teach for America

In June of 2011, I joined a national movement to close the achievement gap with Teach for America and soon became the lead Language/Science teacher to 80 students in Baltimore City.  I was selected from the top 11% of 48,000 applicants across the country.  

Working in a new profession, I developed my ability to think creatively when solving problems.  I was innovative and industrious with my lesson plans and management strategies.  I utilized online platforms to fund raise for brand new technology and communicate with the families of my students.  I completed 15 graduate-level credits in education courses at Johns Hopkins University

While I enjoyed teaching and working with students, I missed the intellectual stimulation of working with other adults.  I decided that I did not want to pursue a career in teaching and I moved onto the beginning of my marketing career.
